For the commute and the climb.
Two blower fans move air through the gap between your back and the pack, instead of waiting for you to walk fast enough.
The targets
Three numbers we design against.
Two PWM-controlled blower fans running on AA batteries, meant to move air across your back for the whole commute.
Target: feels 25°F cooler
Perceived drop at the panel surface. A design target, not a measurement
Target runtime per set of AA cells
Calculated from cell capacity and fan draw. Not yet bench-tested
Target noise at the shoulder
The design goal the fan is selected against. Not measured
Exploded view
Four layers, and none are decorative.
Air enters at the pack, gets moved by two blower fans, is split four ways by the distributor, and leaves through the mesh against your back.

Concept imageWhat it is
A cooling panel, not another backpack.
ErgoFlo is a single part that goes between your back and the pack you already own. A rigid PETG frame holds a sheet of 3D spacer mesh under tension, so instead of your shirt pressing flat against the pack, there is a 5 mm channel of open air the whole way down your spine.
Two PWM-controlled blower fans sit behind the lumbar mount and push air through that channel, running off standard AA cells you supply yourself. The straps thread through the PETG frame itself, which spreads the load across the panel rather than down a single line. The targets are 168 g added, 4-6 hours per charge, and a fit across most 15-45 L packs with a suspended back panel. None of that has been measured against a real pack yet.
- Fan
- Two blowers, PWM speed control (target)
- Battery
- Takes AA cells, not included, you supply them
- Runtime
- 4-6 hrs per set of batteries (target)
- Weight added
- 168 g (target)
- Fits
- Intended for packs 15-45L with a suspended back panel
Who it’s for
The walk across campus.
Fifteen minutes between buildings with a laptop, a water bottle and three textbooks on your back. The pack sits flat against your shirt the whole way, and by the time you sit down your shirt is wet.
A better strap or a lighter fabric doesn’t touch that problem. Moving air through the gap does, which is why we are building a panel rather than another backpack.
IllustrationWhat we’re building
Three ideas, and only one is being built.

This is a preorder for a product that has not been built yet. No unit exists, no fan or frame has been produced, and nothing has been bench-tested or certified. You are charged $49.99 today and we aim to ship in about 120 days. All preorders are final, with no change-of-mind refunds. If we miss the 120-day window you can take a full refund instead of waiting. Figures are engineering targets for a design that has not been built, not measured results. Nothing has been bench-tested or certified, and the final product may differ or may never ship.

FAQ
Before you pay.
You can preorder it today for $49.99, shipping included. Be clear about what that means: ErgoFlo is still a design. No unit exists, nothing has been bench-tested, and nothing is certified. It takes AA batteries, which are not included. You are funding the build, not buying from stock.
